For decades, Phantom has been so synomous with retractable screens it's almost become the generic name for retractable screen doors in much the same way Kleenex has for tissue paper. Made in Vancouver, Canada, Phantom is a family owned business that definitely produces a well made retractable screen door. Handles - Phantom legacy screens offer a plastic handle with exposed bolts and nuts Apollo screen doors are a die cast metal handle with a haptic grip and no exposed screws
Speed- Phantom screens always snap back. You would typically never let go of the door even though it's retractable or you'll see what we mean Apollo screen doors have a built in hydraulic speed reducer covered by a lifetime warranty
Standard Heights: Phantom standard units are up to 84" tall, and overheight units are up to 96" tall Apollo retractable screens are standard up to 98" in height
Home Base: Phantom Screens are made in Canada Apollo Screens are made in the USA
Latch Systems: Phantom offers a thumb latch, but you have you to hold it down the entire time you move the door back and forth
