A homeowner in Atlanta had a second-story deck that sat unused through the hottest months of the year. The Atlas Patio Cover was installed with motorized aluminum louvers, an Onyx frame, and Glacier-finish blades across the full roof structure — see our Atlas Louvered Patio Cover page for full specs.

The Onyx and Glacier combination was chosen to complement the existing exterior without competing with it. Integrated lighting was added so the deck functions after dark. The louvers rotate from fully open to fully closed via a smartphone app, which means morning sun is still an option without committing to a hot afternoon.
The elevation made this a more involved install than a ground-level patio. Framing an Atlas on a second-story deck requires precise anchoring, and the finished result sits flush with the roofline rather than looking like an afterthought bolted to the back of the house.
