If you have french doors at home, you already know they are so much nicer than sliding glass patio doors. Elegant, pretty to look at, they really make your home feel elevated. From a functional point of view they are nicer as well! Your openings are closer to 5 or 6 feet than 3 or 4. This lets you bring in furniture, and most importantly really get a great breeze in your home with cross-ventilation. The first immediate problem is bugs. They come at the worst time. Retractable Screen Doors are the obvious french door screen solution, but they have some limitations. Apollo solves some of these issues in ways that other screens cannot.
5 Feet used to be a big opening, to be fair this is more of a medium opening. We do have a system that is a perfect screen system for bi-fold doors, but this is really about french doors. Apollo along with ClearView screen systems are the only major retractble screen door brand that offer solutions that can cover a double door with one screen. This is usually up to 65" or so, and also has an inherent problem over a double door screen system- until now. The innovative Apollo latch system allows you to add a "stop" to the retractable screen door anywhere you need it. Simply engage the lever, and let go. It's that easy. The most common application is to install a stop over the 2nd French door. That way if you go to open your screens, but keep one side of your french doors shut you don't have to chase after the screen door. Other systems, like Wizard's Vista View or Betterview screen system offer brakes in their retractable screen door, but you have to hold on the handle the whole time. Not ideal if you are walking out to a bbq with your hands full.
