Clear Vinyl Important Specs
- The minimum solid vinyl borders are 6” on sides and 6” at the top and bottom which will help absorb the shrinking and expansion of the material preventing performance issues.
- For larger application in colder climates it may be advisable to increase border sizes, especially the sides.
- This is a product that is made with two different substrates. There may be wrinkles along the welds depending on temperature and weather
Care & Maintenance
As Clear Vinyl does expand and contract based on changing weather conditions, please follow these steps to ensure many years of trouble free use:
- When first installed leave down for 24 hours to allow material to relax
- Keep the vinyl screens rolled up when not being used.
- In cooler weather, ensure the area where the units are being installed has a heat source and that source is turned on to allow the area to warm up as much as possible prior to operating the screens.
- Ensure the tracks are thoroughly lubricated with a WD40 Specialist Dry Lubricant.
- To clean the clear vinyl wash the Vinyl with a mild detergent, warm water and a microfiber cloth.
- To keep your clear vinyl looking as good as new, use a coated clear vinyl specific cleaning and moisturizing product (Imar, 303) and a clean microfiber cloth on the clear vinyl. Like this cleaner on Amazon.
Do Not Use Random Cleaners
Using a wax, generic cleaner or polish product not specifically made for coated CLEAR vinyl can leave the vinyl looking dull or stained. It is important to also not use water repelling products on the screens. Sunscreen, oils from cooking, or other substances on your hand can also discolor the vinyl.
With proper care and maintenance, you can enjoy your vinyl shades for years to come!
