A homeowner in North Park had French doors leading to a private balcony off the bedroom. The opening was wide enough that a single screen would have been awkward to operate, so we installed a double retractable screen door system sized to the exact frame.

Two screens retract into separate housings on each side and meet at the center when closed. The housing was built in white to match the existing door trim. When the screens are pulled across, insects stay out and the balcony view stays open. When they are not needed, both units retract completely out of sight against the door frame.
The main ask was simple: fresh air without bugs, and nothing blocking the view to the balcony. A conventional hinged screen door on each side would have required constant coordination every time someone stepped outside. This setup lets both panels operate independently.
