A Double Retractable Screen Closes The Gap On A Poolside Opening In Palm Springs

A home in Rancho Mirage needed screens for two openings: a wide poolside entry and a rear access point on the back of the house. The poolside opening was too wide for a single screen panel, so we installed a double retractable system with two independent screens that meet at the center — see our retractable screen door page for full specs.

Each panel retracts on its own track, giving the homeowner full flexibility — one side open for cross-ventilation, both closed for complete insect protection during evenings by the pool. A slow-close speed reducer was added to each unit so there is no slamming against the center meeting point. The mesh is fine enough to stop bugs without cutting the sight line to the water. At the rear of the house, a single retractable screen handles everyday access with the same clean operation.
