A homeowner in Loomis had French doors they wanted to keep open during the day without dealing with insects. A double retractable screen door was built and fitted to the opening, with both screens meeting at the center seam.
The housing was finished in black to work with the existing door hardware. At the center, a magnetic closure pulls both panels together cleanly when released. A secure latch was added for times when the homeowner wants the screens held in place. One panel can be opened independently for quick in-and-out, or both can be pushed aside for a full-width opening. When neither is needed, both screens retract completely and the French doors read exactly as they did before.
