A Wide French Door Entry In Oceanside Finally Got A Screen That Disappears

A homeowner in Oceanside needed a screen solution for a wide French door opening without compromising the look of the entry. A standard screen door would have covered the frame and broken up the clean lines they had. We built a retractable screen door to the exact span of the opening, sized to within one-sixteenth of an inch.

The unit runs the full width of the French doors on a long pull configuration, gliding across the entire opening in a single pass. When not in use, it retracts completely into the housing and disappears. The slow-close speed reducer was included so the screen returns without any slam or bounce. Color was matched to the existing door and trim to keep the entry looking seamless.
