Double Retractable Screen Door Fitted To French Doors In Escondido

A homeowner in Escondido needed a screen solution for a set of French doors leading to the patio. Standard single-panel screens do not work on double-door openings, so we built and installed a double retractable screen door sized to the exact opening — within one-sixteenth of an inch.

Both panels meet cleanly in the middle. The homeowner can operate one side independently or pull both open at the same time, depending on foot traffic. A secure latch keeps everything in place for everyday use. Aluminum construction and a slow-close speed reducer mean no warping, no sagging, and no slamming.

When the screens are not needed, they retract completely out of sight. The French doors stay visible and unobstructed.
