A homeowner in Torrance wanted airflow through their front door without covering it with a traditional screen. The entry was a focal point of the home, and anything bulky or cheap-looking was off the table — see our retractable screen door page for full specs.

We sized a retractable screen door to the opening within one-sixteenth of an inch. The mesh disappears at a distance, and the aluminum housing was color-matched to blend with the existing trim. A slow-close speed reducer was added so the screen returns quietly without slamming. The result is a screen that reads as part of the door, not something bolted onto it.
